The Tain District Business Advisory Centre has presented
start-up kits to five apprentices in the district to enable them set up
their own businesses in carpentry, vulcanising and welding, after
receiving skills training at the Centre.
Making the presentations, the District Head of the Business
Advisory Centre, Mr. Fredrick Apraku Amoateng, said the Centre exists to
offer skills training to people willing to be trained to set up their
own business in the various fields.
He mentioned mushroom making, soap making, masonry, carpentry, welding,
and vulcanising among others as ventures the centre supports,
The
Tain District Chief Executive, Madam Charity Akua Oforiwaa Dwommoh,
said the interventions are expected to help create sustainable
employment and better the lives of the beneficiaries and their families.
She, therefore, advised them to use the tools effectively to grow their
businesses, and to help create job opportunities for the unemployed in
the district.
She added that the assembly would be visiting the shops of beneficiaries to monitor their activities.
